Education

Here at LaPorte United Methodist Church, we believe in the ongoing education of members. This is why we offer many activities throughout the week to learn about the Bible, what it means to be a Christian, and how we should be more like Him.

6:18 Prayer Group

MOndays at 6:18pm

Ephesians 6:18 states: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."

Our 6:18 Prayer Group (established by Rev. Jonathan McCleery) has been meeting one evening each week for many years. Our evenings and attendees have varied, but our purpose remains: "Keep on praying for all the Lord's people." Please consider joining us! We would love to have you!

We are living in a challenging time, but being in the company of fellow believers for prayer in the quietness and holiness of our sanctuary is a blessing to the soul. We currently meet on Mondays at 6:18 p.m., discuss any concerns or burdens on our hearts, any prayer requests (as well as those in the altar prayer box), then present them to our Lord. Some pray aloud and some offer support with their presence and faithful, prayerful spirit. Please come and join us as we put our faith into action through prayer and fellowship!

Men's study

Sundays at 8am

All men are welcome to join as we explore and discuss scripture and how we are experiencing God in our lives.

The men are currently following the lectionary for the United Methodist Church for 2023 (Year A).

Sunday School

Sundays at 9:30am

Here at LaPorte United Methodist Church, we believe that Sunday School is not for children but for adults as well. This is why we offer two adult Sunday School classes, one modern and one traditional. In addition to these we offer children's Sunday School which are put into different classes by grade.
